Principles of Leadership - Monday Nights beginning September 13th

6:00pm - 9:00pm - Rev Chuck Hobson

3 Credit Hours

A study leading to the development of a biblical theology of leadership and an understanding of the pastor's administrative responsibilities.  Consideration is given to identifying leadership traits and developing leadership skills such as: clarifying and advocating corporate vision; operationalizing that vision through a mission statement and organizational structure; planning and managing change in an organization; managing conflict; and motivating people.  Includes discussion of staff relations, boards and committees, office administration, time management, accounting, budgeting, financial recording keeping, tax responsibility, and insurance.


Old Testament Survey- Monday Nights beginning September 13th

3 Credit Hours

A comprehensive analysis of the Hebrew canon.  The course acquaints the student with key facts in each book of the Old Testament and how they relate and fit together.  The student will gain spiritual understanding of Old Testament history, poetry, and prophecy.  This course takes the student from Genesis through the historical books.



Hermeneutics- Tuesday Nights Beginning
September 14th

6:00 - 8:00pm - Dr. Ron Young

3 Credit Hours

An introductory study of the principles and methods of correctly ascertaining the meaning of a biblical text and properly applying it to the contemporary situation.  Special attention will be given to the interpretation of Scripture in its grammatical, historical, cultural, and theological context.


Authority of the Believer- Tuesday Nights Beginning September 14th

3 Credit Hours

An introductory study of the biblical basis and theology relating to the “authority and power” of the believer as a result of their union with Christ. The class will define “who” believers are in Christ and discuss the practical benefits which they have received as a result of their new relationship with God. The student will specifically learn how to experience the power of God in their daily Christian experience in victory over Satan’s kingdom and in the release of the blessings of healing, deliverance and answered prayer.



1 & 2 Corinthians- Thursday Nights Beginning
 September 16th

6:00 - 8:00pm - Rev Mary Poehner

3 Credit Hours

An analysis and exposition of 1 and 2 Corinthians, with special treatment of 1 Corinthians 12-14.  Attention is given to the historical background, doctrinal teaching, devotional value, and contemporary application of the literature.


Comp & Research- Thursday Nights Beginning
 September 16th

8:00 - 10:00pm - Kenneth Walker

3 Credit Hours

This course is designed to train the student in writing for research using a college level library as well as the Internet.  Coursework will include a documented essay, a fact-based research project, a literary based research project, and will conclude with a biblically based research project combining skills from the previous projects.

Tuition payments can be spread out one month apart starting at registration by submitting post-dated checks - all of which must be paid before classes begin.

Registration will be held Thursday, April 1st from 6 to 7 pm in CE4 (next to the Lyceum)

A Course Syllabus for each class will also be available at that time.

Tuition checks made payable to Canyon Hills can be sent with your completed application.
