Greetings Christian Ministry Family,

Canyon Hills Bible College has a great Spring quarter starting on April 5th, 2010 and we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come and join us in classes. Registration and Orientation are on April 1st. Registration is from 6 - 7 pm in room CE4 (next to Lyceum) and Orientation is from 7 - 8 pm in the Lyceum. The regular classes are listed below:


Pentateuch - Monday Nights begining April 5th

An in-depth analysis of the first five books of the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These are also known as the Pentateuch, the Five Books of Moses or the Law. A special emphasis will be placed on the creation account and the birth of national and spiritual Judaism.

 


World religions and Cults- Monday Nights beginning April 5th

3 Credit Hours

A comparative examination of the tenets of the major religions of the world, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Shinto, Islam, animism, and Confucianism.  Includes a study of modern cults   their characteristics, doctrines, and differences from Christian orthodoxy.  Attention is given to equipping the student with the knowledge necessary to approach intelligently and witness effectively to those adhering to non-Christian religions.


 

Church History 2 - Tuesday Nights begining April 6th

3 Credit Hours

A study of the major personalities in the Church history and the historical development of the Christian Church and its influence in world history from the time of the church fathers, through the founding of the Roman church, through the Middle Ages, the Reformation, and its progress to the development of English Protestantism.  This study is taught over two quarters (THEO 305 and 306).
A continuation of Systematic Theology 1, including a survey of the major doctrines of Church, the Holy Spirit (Pneumatology) and the end times (eschatology).


Systamatic Theology 2 - Tuesday Nights begining April 6th

Ethics - Thursday Nights begining April 8th

An examination, in light of the teachings of Scripture, of the moral principles governing human conduct.  Special attention is given to the minister's code of ethics in relating to his family, fellow ministers, congregation, community, and denomination, and contemporary personal, economic, and social moral problems.




Personal Evangelism - Thursday Nights beginning April 8th

3 Credit Hours

A course designed to enhance the student's basic understanding of evangelism and methods of evangelism from a Biblical, theological and historical perspective. Special attention is given to such concepts as conversion, reconciliation, forgiveness, adoption, grace and mission. The student is encouraged to become bolder in witnessing and to make personal evangelism a regular part of his/her life.

Tuition payments can be spread out one month apart starting at registration by submitting post-dated checks - all of which must be paid before classes begin.

Registration will be held Thursday, April 1st from 6 to 7 pm in CE4 (next to the Lyceum)

A Course Syllabus for each class will also be available at that time.

Tuition checks made payable to Canyon Hills can be sent with your completed application.
